Let’s tackle food waste in haslemere.

In our town, a huge amount of perfectly good food goes to waste every day. Food that’s been overproduced, mislabelled, or simply not needed ends up heading for landfill, even though it’s still fresh and edible. Our Community Fridge exists to change that.

By redistributing surplus food from local businesses, farms and neighbours, we’re helping to keep good food in circulation and out of the bin. It’s a simple, practical way to cut down on food waste while making better use of the resources already around us.

The Community Fridge is designed to make sharing surplus food easy, normal and stigma-free. There’s no sign-up, no eligibility criteria and no questions asked. If you have food to share, you can drop it off. If you can make use of what’s available, you’re welcome to take it.

Whether you’re topping up your weekly shop, rescuing ingredients that might otherwise be wasted, or contributing surplus from your garden, the fridge is here for everyone. It’s a community-led solution that helps us all waste less, share more, and live a little greener together.

Please be considerate with your donations.

A good rule of thumb:

If you would feed it to a loved one, donate it!
